The Best Home Remedies For Curing Acne

Fighting Acne At The Home Front

Treating acne is not easy even when you have all the money to spend for it.  If you’re not up to spending thousands of bucks for complex pharmaceutical preparations and surgical therapies, then you can use some home remedies which have been proven effective in fighting acne.

Nutrition and Supplements

The key to a healthy skin is good nutrition.  There is no substantial proof that eating chocolates or any group of food can cause acne, but a regular well-balanced diet helps your body obtain the necessary vitamins and minerals to keep your skin healthy.

  • Eat at least five servings of vegetables and at least one serving of fruits per day.
  • Regular elimination of dirt from the body can give your skin a healthy glow.  Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and increase your fiber intake through whole grain meals.
  • Onions, garlic, and other foods rich in sulphur can be helpful for those who suffer from acne.  Sulphur has an anti-microbial effect.
  • Avoid synthetic trans fats.  These are industrially-created oils that are used to keep longer shelf life among processed or canned foods.
  • Daily supplements of basic vitamins and minerals can help you fight acne.  Vitamin B6 helps you prevent acne flare-ups that might occur before or during menstruation.  Zinc and Vitamin E can remove toxic substances in the skin and protect the skin from damage.

Natural Home-made Cure

You can prepare some poultice out of several natural ingredients, apply them directly to the affected area, and wash them off thoroughly after at least an hour.  Here are a few poultices that can serve as home remedy for acne:

  • Make a paste by mixing honey and cinnamon and apply them on your face.  You can leave it on your face overnigh0t and wash it off with warm water the next morning.
  • Apply ripe tomato on the affected area and wash it after an hour.
  • Applying ground sesame seeds and water on the affected area can reduce acne inflammation.
  • Rub fresh garlic on the affected area everyday.
  • Mix lemon juice and cinnamon and apply them on your skin. Lemon has an anti-microbial effect.
  • Make a paste out of turmeric powder and fresh mint juice and leave it on your skin for an hour.  This relieves the itchiness and stinging on the affected area.
  • Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic – it heals pimples the same way as the commercial benzoyl peroxide does, but it does not pose side effects.
  • Gently rub some orange peel on your skin and rinse it off after an hour.
  • Apply a paste of fenugreek leaves and water on your skin and leave it on overnight.  Rinse with lukewarm water in the morning.

These natural home remedy tips for acne work best if you follow them regularly.  They don’t cost a thing at all if you already have some preparations available at home, and like other alternative medicines for acne, they spare you from the side effects caused by synthetically-produced drugs.
